![]() This game was one of the best point and click flash games of the era. With all the big production games out there, every once in awhile a gem like this comes along to remind us that an incredibly fun game doesn't need to cost a lot to make, purchase, or run. I picked this up out of shear boredom one day and loved every second on it. In this game you use the two shoulder buttons to guide DK between pegs from. Samorost can be played through in a bout 10 minutes. It’s a browser based point-and-click game that surrealistic scenes and a small gnome trying to escape the devastation of an approaching meteor. Though it's less a puzzle/adventure game and more a "click on everything to see what it does then progress" game it’s absolutely enchanting. Samorost is a small puzzle-adventure game designed by Amanita Design in 2003. Not that there’s anything fundamentally wrong with games like that… we just don’t have enough well made games that aren’t like that.Īmanita and their games has brought happiness to a lot of people, there’s no other game devs that come close to the level of fidelity and polish in making these works of art which are totally unique in every aspect and Samorost is a great example of this. The existence of a game studios like Amanita makes me so happy, and I wish there were more developers like it people who see the limitless potential of video games as an art form and not just an addictive skinner box with violence and scoring systems and achievements and microtransactions. I’m glad this piece of history survived the Flash purge. ![]() Originally released in 2003?!?! Damn, I'm old.
